Coach Tinashe Mugabe - Owner/Executive Director


Though he was born in the United States, "Coach T" grew up in Zimbabwe before returning to the United States at 18 to attend college at UNCW where he studied International Business. After graduating from UNCW, Tinashe spent time playing in Australia and in Germany until returning to the United States where he moved to Mooresville and started FC ATHLETICO.


Coach Mike Pryor


Mike has recently joined the FC ATHLETICO as a Staff Coach.  He is the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Catawba College.  Prior to his professional career in Soccer Training and Coaching, he had a successful youth, high school, and college playing career. Recruited through his play in High School, he went on to play on scholarship at West Chester University in Pennsylvania.

Upon graduation at West Chester University, he attended Wilkes University as the Graduate Assistant for the Men’s Soccer Program and earn his Master's in Business Administration. Since then, he has dedicated his professional life toward training and developing individuals, teams, programs, and clubs.  Prior to moving to Mooresville, NC, Mike was the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at West Chester University, Founder/Owner of Quik Touch Soccer - individual and small group skills training, Director of Coaching at Phoenixville Area Soccer Club, and Staff Coach for Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer.  He has earned his USC Premier Diploma, USSF National C License, USYS National Youth Diploma, and USC Director of Coaching Diploma.


Coach Alex Moreno - Goalkeeper Coach

Alex was born and raised in Huntersville, NC. He grew up playing for local clubs and played collegiality for Pfeiffer University. In 2011, he completed his undergraduate degree and joined the coaching staff as an undergraduate assistant. In this role, he served as the goalkeeper trainer where is worked with the team goalkeepers and contributed to help the team win the 2015 NCAA Men's Soccer National Championship with an undefeated record of 25-0. He is currently working with North Mecklenburg High School Men's Soccer team on a volunteer basis.

Coach Nick Brindley - Partner/Assistant Director


Nick was born and raised in the English countryside of Northamptonshire. At the age of 16, Nick left his home and spent four years in North London where he joined the "Protec Football Academy' and 'Barnet FC'. In 2007, Nick brought his soccer career to the United States where he spent four years at Pfeiffer University, earning a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science

Nick brings a wealth of experience to FCA both as a former professional player in England and as a current coach.
Prior to his new role with FCA, Nick served as a USSDA Director within CSA. He also served as the Youth Academy Director at LNSC, helping develop their younger boys program into, what was at the time, one of the strongest groups in the region. In addition to Nick’s work at the club level, he has also served as an Assistant Coach with Catawba College Men’s Soccer program as well as a NC Olympic Development Program staff coach.
Nick holds a USSF B License, USYS National Youth License and multiple licenses with the English FA.
Coach John Long

Coach John will be bringing with him a wealth of experience in youth soccer having coached for Heat FC in Las Vegas and Inter Atlanta Youth Soccer. He has also been Assistant Youth Academy Director at Charlotte Independence Soccer Club, a coach for the Carolina Rapids as well as having coached both boys and girls groups in the North Carolina ODP in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons. His own playing career spans from 1989 to 2001 and includes two appearances in the Presidents Cup State Finals. He was a three time state semi-finalist and has received multiple All-Region and All-Conference honors. We are excited to welcome Coach John into the FC Athletico organization and believe his wide range of experience in both youth and high school soccer clubs will be a tremendous asset to our program.
