Coach Tinashe Mugabe - Owner/Executive Director


Though he was born in the United States, "Coach T" grew up in Zimbabwe before returning to the United States at 18 to attend college at UNCW where he studied International Business. After graduating from UNCW, Tinashe spent time playing in Australia and in Germany until returning to the United States where he moved to Mooresville and started FC ATHLETICO.


Coach Alex Moreno - Goalkeeper Coach

Alex was born and raised in Huntersville, NC. He grew up playing for local clubs and played collegiality for Pfeiffer University. In 2011, he completed his undergraduate degree and joined the coaching staff as an undergraduate assistant. In this role, he served as the goalkeeper trainer where is worked with the team goalkeepers and contributed to help the team win the 2015 NCAA Men's Soccer National Championship with an undefeated record of 25-0. He is currently working with North Mecklenburg High School Men's Soccer team on a volunteer basis.

Coach Nick Brindley - Partner/Assistant Director


Nick was born and raised in the English countryside of Northamptonshire. At the age of 16, Nick left his home and spent four years in North London where he joined the "Protec Football Academy' and 'Barnet FC'. In 2007, Nick brought his soccer career to the United States where he spent four years at Pfeiffer University, earning a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science

Nick brings a wealth of experience to FCA both as a former professional player in England and as a current coach.
Prior to his new role with FCA, Nick served as a USSDA Director within CSA. He also served as the Youth Academy Director at LNSC, helping develop their younger boys program into, what was at the time, one of the strongest groups in the region. In addition to Nick’s work at the club level, he has also served as an Assistant Coach with Catawba College Men’s Soccer program as well as a NC Olympic Development Program staff coach.
Nick holds a USSF B License, USYS National Youth License and multiple licenses with the English FA.











Coach Charlton Muhlauri


Charlton was born and raised in Zimbabwe. He joins us after spending  two years as an assistant coach at Northeastern University (Boston Ma). Coach “Charlie” also coached youth level for New England Sachems (Winchester Ma). Prior to coaching, he attended Northeastern University where he studied Political Science and International Affairs. He was also a member of the men’s soccer team. Charlie  comes from a soccer enthusiastic family.  He grew up watching his father coach at the International level and has loved the game ever since!

Coach Phil Kroft


Phil was born and raised in Virginia Beach, and has experience coaching at the youth, high school, and college levels. After playing collegiately, he began a career as a high school teacher before becoming the Director of Scouting for the D.C. United Youth Academy. He also coached at the Catholic University of America, and is currently an assistant with the Davidson College men's soccer program. Phil graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology from George Mason University, is currently studying a master's of education degree in positive coaching and athletic leadership, and holds a USSF National A-Senior license.
